No layoffs in public sector, says Interior Min Theodorikakos

"There will be no layoffs in the public sector and it is very sad that even now, two months after the general elections, the main opposition does not want to look at things objectively and reasonably," stated Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos to Real FM on Tuesday, concerning the issue relating to the number of public-sector workers.
Theodorikakos said that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will receive the regional governors to discuss matters of regional development on Wednesday at the Maximos mansion.
On the issue of managing waste, he said that "an effective and permanent solution is a top priority" throughout the country, especially in the Attica region, which he referred to "a time bomb".
"We are determined, it is an issue of public health, civilisation and economy. We can't allow the country to remain in this condition any longer. We will address the problem with a comprehensive plan. It is the ministry's top priority, we will not back down, society demands it and we will be judged by our results during our four-year term," he said.
