Bulgaria will coordinate security and fighting against organized crime in the Danube region together with Germany. That was how the EC divided the responsibilities between the eight countries that participate in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region.
Bulgaria will also be the leader in the areas of culture and tourism, together with Romania. Austria, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia will be in charge of the better transport connections between all the states along the Danube River, while Hungary and the Czech Republic will respond for the energy projects.
The EU Strategy for the Danube Region aims at raising the standard of the countries, situated along the eastern parts of the river via a better infrastructure, better environment and stimulating the small and medium-sized businesses, BNR wrote.
