The Bulgarian unit of French electric vehicle services provider Fullcharger International said it will launch a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Sofia on August 9.
This will be the eighth EV charging station in the capital city, Fullcharger Bulgaria said in a press release.
Outside the capital, the first EV charging station was installed in June, in Bulgaria's northeastern city of Dobrich.
According to the Electric Vehicle Industrial Cluster, recent estimates show that electric and hybrid vehicles in Europe will reach 50% of all vehicles by 2025. After 2020, the EU would not be able to produce vehicles with internal combustion engines because they would not be able to meet the high standards for exhaust emissions that are expected to be imposed by then.
