Bulgaria's new economy minister Delyan Dobrev said he will focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
"Much more attention should be paid to small and medium-sized enterprises. I personally will concentrate a big part of my attention on them," Dobrev told the state-run Bulgarian National Radio on Sunday.
More effort should be made to attract and support foreign investors, especially in the real economy, he added.
Dobrev voiced hope that Bulgaria will achieve economic growth of 3% in 2012 and 5% next year.
Dobrev succeeded Traicho Traikov as economy minister in an unexpected cabinet reshuffle late last week which also saw health minister Stefan Konstantinov go. Konstantinov was replaced by the parliamentary committee's chairperson, Desislava Atanasova.
