New 14-km Section of Hemus Motorway to Open to Traffic July 25

A new 8-kilometre section of the eastward Hemus motorway will open to traffic on July 25, the regional development ministry said.

The Shumen–Belokopitovo section, built by local company Avtomagistrali-Tcherno More, has been funded by the state budget, the ministry said in a press release.
The Hemus motorway, currently under construction, will connect the capital city Sofia with Varna, situated on the Black Sea coast. The planned length of the motorway, which should be completed by 2020, is 433 km.
