Bulgaria's natural gas dealer Bulgargaz is bracing up to ask the state energy and water regulatory commission for yet another increase in the consumer price of natural gas, as of June 9th, 2017.
The asking price of Bulgargaz will be 378.60 leva per 1,000 cubic meters, transit fee, excise duties and VAT excluded.
This will be an increase by 4.22% (15.34 leva per 1,000 cubic meters) from the current price.
The company justifies their demand for higher consumer prices of natural gas with an expected increase in the prices at which the company receives supplies from Gazprom.
It is now up to the state regulator to decide if the Bulgarians should pay even higher gas bills, after the shocking increase in the price of natural gas by over 30% on April 1st. If approved, the higher gas price will trigger an increase in the consumer prices in almost all sectors of the economy.
