The shareholders of the National Bank of Greece approved the completion of an increase of the bank's capital by 2.5-billion-euro at an offer price of 2.20 euro per new share on Saturday, the Athens News Agency-Macedonian Press Agency reported.
The bank's equity offering, through a successful book building process held on May 6-8, was oversubscribed almost from the start.
Following the completion of the capital hike, the bank's free flow increased as the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund's stake shrank to 57% from 84.376%.
