A political agreement on the Nabucco gas pipeline project will be signed in Turkey on Wednesday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said on Tuesday. This, according to him, will raise the project to the highest level in political terms.

The Nabucco agreement will be signed by all countries, through the territory of which the pipeline will run, the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism said later in the day. By the document the signatories will commit to the construction of the pipeline that will be a direct connection between the most gas-rich regions in the world - the Caspian and the Middle East, with the European gas users.

The pipeline will start at the Eastern Turkish border and will end at Baumgarten in Austria through Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary.

The meeting will be hosted by Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, with whom Bulgarian Energy Minister Traicho Traikov is scheduled to meet after the meeting. /Source: BTA/
