Multinational Tie-Up Wins Deal for Danube Information Sys in Bulgaria

Multinational tie-up Bul Ris 2 has won a 9.5 million lev ($6.5 million/ 4.9 million euro) contract for expansion of Bulris, a river information system on the Danube in Bulgaria, the country’s transport ministry said.
Bul Ris 2, which comprises Sweden's Transas Marine International, France's Transas Mediterranean SAS, and Bulgarian company Telelink, will expand the system and the coverage of the information services, the ministry said in a press release.
Works are expected to be completed within 18 months.
The Bulris project is part of a European system providing efficiency and safe navigation on inland waterways of the Danube river, as well as minimizing their contamination.
The project is being financed under the EU-funded operational programme Transport 2007-2013.
