A 5.56% rise in financial and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria supported the SOFIX gains. Eurohold closed at 2.28 levs as 72,700 shares in the company changed hands.
Parcel delivery company Speedy went up 10.89% to 112.0 levs, which made the company the top gainer among members of the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse. The BGBX40 index climbed 1.28% to 145.87 points.
The BGTR30, under which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, grew 0.06% to 181.88 points. The index was positively influenced by a 8.08% increase in Bulgarian Stock Exchange, the operator of the bourse in Sofia, to a price of 10.7 levs, as 5,169 of its shares changed hands.
Heating utility Toplofikatsia-Ruse was the most traded company on Wednesday, contributing 279,840 levs to the 2.1 million levs ($1.1 million/1.1 million euro) turnover on the BSE's main market.
The BGREIT, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, edged down by 0.06% to 181.88 points, due to a 0.88% fall in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT.
