Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Bulgarian citizens leave Ethiopia

In relation to the state of emergency declared on November 2, 2021 in Ethiopia, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Bulgarians in the country leave Ethiopia as soon as possible. Until then, they must be in constant contact with the embassy in Addis Ababa.

In connection with the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised the risk index for Bulgarian citizens traveling to Ethiopia, as well as on the territory of the country, to level 4 - "Warning to stop traveling to/throughout the country (except in cases of urgent necessity)."

According to information from Bulgaria’s diplomatic mission in Addis Ababa, so far there has been no information about Bulgarian citizens in distress in Ethiopia.
