Deputy Prime Minister for Judicial Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva will take part in the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers (Gymnich), which will take place on 7 and 8 September in Estonia, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.
The meeting will begin with a lunch of the first diplomats and defence ministers of the EU Member States to discuss the implementation of the so-called Defence package of the Global Strategy for European Foreign and Security Policy. Then the working sessions will discuss the situation after North Korea’s sixth nuclear test, the Middle East Peace Process, the EU’s human rights policy, and a joint panel with candidate countries will focus on preventing and combating radicalisation and violent extremism.
A working dinner of the foreign ministers of the candidate countries will discuss the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries and Turkey.
