The first Bulgarian EU Commissioner and special advisor to EC Vice President Siim Kallas, Mrs. Meglena Kuneva took part in the 15th round table with the government of Greece in Athens.
The unprecedented crisis in the Euro-zone is a challenge but also an opportunity for European economies to reform inefficient practices and policies, long neglected in times of economic prosperity, Kuneva said during the forum.
We have to restructure policies, the instruments and mechanisms for providing social services, which is the fundament for achieving an intelligent, inclusive and sustainable economy, Kuneva added. In her words the Europe-2020 Strategy of the EU and Euro Plus Pact present a direction and instruments for attaining those goals. According to Mrs. Kuneva restoring confidence in European economy could be achieved through distributing risks among all member-countries and participants in the processes. (Source: BNR)
