A meeting on February 17th 2021 took place between the Greek Ambassador to Bulgaria Dimitrios Chronopoulos, Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria (HBCB) Chairman of the Management Board Stamatios Theodoropoulos, HBCB Deputy Chairman of the Management Board George Mentzelopoulos, HBCB Executive Director Minko Gerdzhikov and the Head of the Military Medical Academy (MMA) Major General Dr. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski, MMA Deputy Head Colonel Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimo Dimov and Major Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Popivanov.
The discussion revolved around the progress in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, with Ambassador Chronopoulos underlining the important role of MMA and Dr. Mutafchiyski in the fight against the virus. In addition, the participants discussed Greece’s approach in dealing with the pandemic, with a focus on tourism opportunities.
As per HBCB Deputy Chairman Mentzelopoulos’ initiative, Dr. Mutafchiyski approved an inoculation plan for HBCB members, willing to be vaccinated, as long as it is in accordance with the national vaccination plan and MMA capacity. Dr. Mutafchiyski approved a request to report in a discourse with HBCB members, the progress of the battle against the epidemic during the current time period.
In addition, the meeting served as an occasion for the Greek Embassy in Bulgaria and HBCB to bestow a BGN 15 000 donation, collected from a combined donation initiative.
