The Makaza border pass between Bulgaria and Greece will be opened only after Greece gets a new government, Kurdzhali regional governor Ivanka Taoushanova said.
It is the future Greek prime minister who will unveil the pass between Kurdzhali, in south Bulgaria and Komotini in northeastern Greece together with his Bulgarian counterpart, state-run Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) quoted Taoushanova as saying.
Thus setting a date for the opening is impossible until Bulgaria's southern neighbour puts together its new government, Taoushanova added.
Makaza's unveiling is linked to a planned meeting in the area between the governments of the two countries. Last year the meeting was postponed until the border pass opening.
