France's President Emmanuel Macron is in the Euxinograd government residency near the coastal city of Varna, where he is having talks with his Bulgarian counterpart, Rumen Radev and PM Boyko Borisov.
Appearing from his meeting with Macron, President Radev said their talk revolved around France's support for Bulgaria's Schengen and Eurozone accession, as well as the Bulgarian-French partnership in the field of defense in the context of the Bulgarian army's modernization.
"France is one of Bulgaria's biggest trade partners with a turnover of 1.9 billion euro, yet there is still room for improvement of the business partnership between our two countries," President Radev said.
"We also discussed some defense issues, concerning the process of modernization of our armed forces according to the latest NATO standards," he added.
