Labour Costs in Bulgaria Lowest in EU

Labour costs in Bulgaria in 2013 were the lowest among EU member states, 3.7 euro ($5.1), Eurostat figures indicated.

Bulgaria also reported the sharpest increases in hourly labour costs among EU member states between 2008 and 2013, 44.1% versus 10.2% average for the EU.

Labour costs in Bulgaria have been increasing gradually from 2.6 euro/hour in 2008, to 3.1 euro/ hour in 2009, 3.3 euro/hour in 2010 and 3.6 euro/hour in 2011.
