IOM Awards Bulgarian President for Commitment to Humanitarian Issues

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has awarded President Rosen Plevneliev for his exceptional commitment to humanitarian issues, Plevneliev's press secretariat said.
The distinction is given for Plevneliev's positions in respect of the situation with migration in Europe.
In the autumn of 2015 Plevneliev conferred with IOM Deputy Director General Laura Thompson and discussed the challenges for Bulgaria and the EU in the management of migration and finding possible solutions.
The award, in the form of a plaque, commemorates the 65th anniversary of IOM. It was received by the President's Chief de Cabinet Deyana Kostadinova.
