Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria Gas Pipeline Launches Market Test

The ICGB company, in charge of developing, building and operating the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria gas pipeline (IGB), said it is launching a market test to gauge interest in using its transportation capacity.
The interest of other Transmission System Operators to interconnect their systems with the IGB Pipeline is also being invited, the company said in a press release.
The test consists of a non-binding expression of interest phase and a binding phase.
ICGB also said it has applied to the regulatory authorities of Greece (RAE) and Bulgaria (SEWRC) for an exemption from certain provisions of EU Directive 2009/73/EC in accordance with article 36 therein.
