Industrial Production in Greece up 3.4 pct in January

Greek industrial production rose 3.4 pct in January with manufacturing production edging up 0.2 pct in the first month of 2019, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
The statistics service said the industrial production index rose 3.4 pct in January compared with the same month last year, after an 1.2 pct decline recorded in the 2018/2017 period and attributed the January figure to increases of: 0.2 pct in manufacturing production (tobacco 66.2 pct, printing 15.3 pct, pharmaceuticals 32 pct, machinery 41.2 pct), 21.9 pct in electricity production and 2.1 pct in water production. The mining production index fell 32.1 pct in the month.
The seasonally-adjusted industrial production index rose 1.5 pct in January compared with December 2018.
