The Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) said it considers the relocation of government agencies from Sofia to other cities across the country unnecessary.
Face-to-face contact with administration officials is a thing of the past in our era of high technologies and digitalization, which renders pointless the agencies' relocation on the grounds that it would lead to geographical proximity between the administration and the business, BIA said in a press release published on its website on Tuesday.
According to BIA, the move would not solve problems with unemployment outside the capital city as it is the business, not the administration, which creates jobs, and urged for a stable business environment with efficient administrative services instead. The association called for stepping up the introduction of an e-government and real administrative reforms based on digitalization of services.
