In order to have enough gas, there should be low-risk supplies at the best price possible, so that the Bulgarian economy could be competitive. These are the main priorities that Prime Minister Kiril Petkov has outlined in the National Assembly.
Today, during a hearing in the National Assembly, PM Petkov outlined the steps the government has taken after Russia cut off gas supplies for this country. PM Petkov said Bulgaria was negotiating for additional quantities of gas from Azerbaijan to be received before the expected completion of the gas connection with Greece on June 30. The government is in advanced talks with the United States and Egypt and hopes the price for gas will not be higher than Gazprom's.
