Hourly labour costs in Bulgaria up 4.9% y/y in Q1

Hourly labour costs in Bulgaria increased by 4.9% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2021, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday, citing preliminary data.

Salary costs went up by 5.4% on the year in the January-March period, while other labour costs rose by an annual 2.1%, the NSI said in a statement.

Hourly labour costs rose the most in the construction sector, by 9.4%. Services showed a growth of 3.5%, while hourly labour costs in the industry sector dropped 0.4%.
