During the visit of Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Vlassis last month, HBCB contributed to a number of events that assisted in communicating the strong presence of Greek entrepreneurship in Bulgaria, while pointing out the processes for strengthening the relationship between our two countries.
The Deputy Foreign Minister had a program full of continuous meetings with the Greeks of Bulgaria during his three-day visit. As commented, it is the choice of the Greek Government and especially of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to have substantial communication with the Greeks living abroad. Consequently, Mr. Vlassis had constant contacts with many Greeks living in Bulgaria and are active in various sectors.
More specifically, HBCB supported the organization of the cultural event "Sozopol ... in winter" in Sofia, organized by the “Greek-Bulgarian Aristotle Association”. The Deputy Foreign Minister made the welcome speech and attended the whole event, which was characterized by the Deputy Minister as a remarkable effort that makes “all Greeks proud!”.
Furthermore, HBCB accommodated all required operations, in order to take place the Divine Liturgy in the chapel of Agios Georgios at our Greek Embassy in Sofia, in which Mr. Kostantinos Vlassis participated. The chapel reopened after 1.5 years, as due to strict epidemiological protocols this was not possible, while the Divine Liturgy was performed by Father Elias Vlachos, who came from Serres especially for this.
Finally, HBCB organized a business dinner between Mr. Vlassis, the Deputy Minister’s Counselors, the Greek Ambassador in Bulgaria, members of the Greek Embassy, members of the Board of Directors of HBCB and members of HBCB. During the dinner a constructive discussion was performed on the issues the Greek companies in Bulgaria are facing and the way forward for actions to be presented.
We would like to thank the Deputy Minister for his restless sincere efforts and actions during his visit, his valuable support and look forward to welcoming him again to Bulgaria!
