February 23rd, 2016 - More than 120 managers of big member companies of the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria, a Cyprus Business Delegation and official guests from Bulgaria and Cyprus met at the Sredetz Hall of the Balkan Hotel in Sofia for the Business Luncheon in honour of H.E. Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, President of the Republic of Cyprus.
During the event was signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The chairmen of the two organisations, greeted the visitors and assured them of the beginning of a profitable cooperation which will intensify the beneficial contacts between the members of the H.B.C.B. and the C.C.C.I.
In his congratulatory speech, the HBCB Chairman Mr. Stamatios Theodoropoulos noted that the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria has been operating for 10 years now and includes 180 member companies, which have provided about 40, 000 jobs in Bulgaria. Despite of the economic crises in both countries, they managed to stabilize their economies in the name of growth, the HBCB Chairman pointed out.
On his behalf, the President of the Republic of Cyprus H.E. Mr. Nicos Anastasiades emphasized the fact that he is particularly pleased to meet an active business community. He underlined that Cyprus is among the strong investors in Bulgaria and a friend country. “I believe that the positive development of the diplomatic and political relationships between Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria significantly support the establishment of favourable business climate, which is beneficial for the Bulgarian as well as for the Cypriot and Greek people, and this contribution is very important.”
The event was held in a very warm atmosphere and positive business contacts.
