Greek tourist arrivals in Bulgaria posted the most significant annual increase among EU nationals to 131,661 in July, up 10.5% on the year, official statistics showed.
In July, total foreign tourist arrivals in Bulgaria amounted to some 1.68 million, up 4.5% on the year and 50.7% higher compared to June, the National Statistics Institute reported on its website on Monday.
Tourist arrivals from EU member states, which accounted for the greatest share of all foreign tourists in Bulgaria last month, edged up by 0.2% on the year to some 1.08 million.
The number of tourist arrivals from European non-EU member states increased by 15.7% on the year to 476,584 in July, as visitors from Ukraine and Russia went up by 32.5% and 27.7%, respectively.
About 61% of all foreign tourists who visited Bulgaria last month were holidaymakers, 32% were guests or just transiting the country and 7.0% came on business.
