Greek State Bonds Top Performers in Europe

Greek state bonds are the best performers among other European bonds, with the 10-year Greek bonds recording the highest yield increase, offering the highest returns despite an increase in their prices, a Bloomberg report said on Friday.
The price of the 10-year Greek benchmark bond is up 26.47 pct so far this year, up 16.8 pct from the same period in 2016. Despite an increase in bond price, the yield of the 10-year bond is 5.54 pct.
Greece is followed by Portugal (the 10-year bond yielded 1.75 pct, up 5.45 pct so far this year and 7.63 pct compared with 2016), Italy (the 10-year bond price fell 3.25 pct this year and 0.33 pct compared with 2016. The bond yields 1.29 pct). Spanish bonds are down 1.05 pct so far this year and 0.5 pct up compared with 2016, while its yield is 0.89 pct. German 10-year bonds lose 4.55 pct in 2017 and are down 1.93 pct compared with 2016. Their yield is 0.060 pct.
