Shares on the Athens Stock Exchange surged to a new record-high on Monday, the Athens News Agency-Macedonian Press Agency reported.
The composite index of the market soared 3.50% to close at 1,365.09 points, its highest in the last 34 months. The index has gained 17.41% so far this year.
Investor focus was on bank shares, the news agency reported, adding that turnover totalled 110.23 million euro.
The Large Cap index increased 3.81% and the Mid Cap index rose 3.14%. All blue chip stocks gained ground, as did all sectors, led by construction, real estate and banks.
Advancers outnumbered decliners 103 to 41, as another 19 companies ended flat.
