Greek Jobless Rate at 27.8% in Oct

Greece’s seasonally corrected unemployment rate stood at 27.8% in October, the Athens News Agency – Macedonian Press Agency reported, quoting official data.
These figures compare to 26.1% in October 2012 and 27.7% in September 2013.
According to data released by Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the jobless rate among men totalled 24.7% while among women it was 32.1% in October, the news agency said.
The unemployment rate in the age group 15-24 was 57.9%, in the 25-34 age group was 37.8%, in the 35-44 age group was 23.8%, in the 45-54 age group was 20.8%, in the 55-64 age group was 16.6% and in the 65-74 age group was 14.7%.
The number of employed people was 3,597,779 in October, while the number of unemployed was 1,387,520.
