According to the Greek Embassy in Ankara, Greek exports to Turkey increased to 350.71 million euros in May. It is an increase by 20 pct compared to May 2013. Turkish exports to Greece for the same period recorded a milder increase of 8 pct to 94.1 million euros.
The rise of Greek exports to Turkey was caused by a significant increase of Greek oil product exports, which accounted for a very high share of the total Greek exports to Turkey for May 2014.
Apart from oil products, Greece mainly exported to Turkey plastic products, cotton, aluminum, boilers and machinery.
