Employment rose 0.2 pct in Greece in the first quarter of 2014, compared with the fourth quarter of 2013, Eurostat said on Friday.
In a report, the EU executive's statistics service said that employment grew by 0.1 pct in the eurozone and by 0.2 pct in the EU in the January-March period.
Employment fell by 1.2 pct in Cyprus, by 0.3 pct in Portugal, by 0.2 pct in Finland, by 0.1 pct in Italy and was unchanged in France, while employment rose by 0.1 pct in Holland, by 0.1 pct in Belgium, by 0.1 pct in Slovenia, by 0.1 pct in Ireland and by 0.2 pct in Greece.
Eurostat said that unemployment eased by 0.5 pct in Greece in the first quarter, compared with the corresponding period last year, while it rose by 0.2 pct in the eurozone and by 0.7 pct in the EU.
