Greek consumer prices fell 1.3% on the year in April, as much as they did a month earlier, Reuters reported, quoting data of the country's statistics service.
The EU-harmonised deflation rate accelerated to minus 1.6% in April from minus 1.5% in March, exceeding a minus 1.4% rate expected by economists, Reuters said.
Euro zone inflation edged up to 0.7% in April, still within the danger zone of under 1 percent, which keeps pressure on the European Central Bank to take action to stop the threat of deflation.
