The Greek government has sought the opinion of the country’s Legal Council of the State on the reported sale of Skorpios island by the heir of Aristotle Onassis to a Russian billionaire.
Finance minister Yannis Stournaras has asked the council if the sale is in the public’s best interests, news agency Bloomberg reported.
Athina Onassis de Miranda, Onassis’s granddaughter, is in the process of selling the island to an unnamed Russian billionaire, Athens-based To Vima newspaper reported in early April.
