Govt Offers Delinquent Taxpayers Softer Payment Terms

The cabinet approved amendments to the Tax Procedure Code allowing people with unpaid taxes or social security contributions to cover the balance first and the accrued interest later, the Sofia News Agency (Novinite.com) reported.
The amendment aims to prevent debtors from accruing interest and accumulating more debt, the government said.
The government has also proposed the introduction of reverse-charge VAT mechanism in grain trade in an attempt to counteract wide-spread VAT frauds, the news agency reported.
