The government awarded local river shipping company BRP a 35-year concession on the Nikopol port terminal, on the Danube river.
BRP has pledged to invest 57,600 levs ($38,600/29,500 euro) in control, maintenance, reconstruction and rehabilitation works, the government said. The minimum volume of investment required from the concessionaire under the tender procedure was 32,600 levs.
The company also offered to pay a fixed annual concession fee of 3,000 levs, Value Added Tax excluded, and a variable amount equal to 3.0% of the total net income from all activities.
The Nikopol river port covers an area of 17,642 square metres.
