Govt Allocates 6.9 Mln Euro to Sofia Subway Expansion

At its last meeting the outgoing government allocated 13.5 million levs ($8.99 million/6.9 million euro) to the expansion of the Sofia subway.

The money will go for the construction of a section from the Tsarigradsko Chausse boulevard to the Sofia airport, and for another one in the city's southern neighbourhood of Mladost.

Sofia's subway network is 31 kilometres long and has 27 stations. Once completed, it will connect the northwestern part of the city with a large business park in its southern outskirts.
