GLOBUL WITH NEW ABSOLUTE HIGHS IN NEW YEAR’S VOICE, SMS TRAFFIC
GLOBUL voice traffic marked a new absolute high during the first hour of 2013 when voice calls marked growth of 5.32%, compared to the same period of 2012, preliminary data of the operator showed. The total growth of voice service usage during the New Year festive period of December 31 - January 1 stood at 3%.
Data traffic for the period marked increase of over 47%, in line with the long-term trend of GLOBUL data services usage growth, with data traffic on December 31 alone growing the remarkable 48.6%.
GLOBUL clients also sent record number of more than 6.02 million SMS in the period of 10 pm on December 31 to 11 am on January 2, up by 11%. On January 1 alone, GLOBUL SMS traffic exceeded about four times the normal daily traffic.
The number of multimedia messages (MMS) sent by GLOBUL users during the festive days also marked a notable 24% increase, compared to the same period of last year.
GLOBUL network had stable operation and good performance during the holidays, successfully managing the increased usage.
