Globul Launches Manchester United Soccer Schools Training Camp In Sofia

Today GLOBUL opened its second training camp, led by Manchester United Soccer Schools coaches. Over 120 young football talents will participate in the camp which will take place in Sofia until June 21.
The initiative is part of the relationship between the Bulgarian telecom company and the famous English club, and was launched at an official press conference held today. GLOBUL Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Nikolaos Choumis and Manchester United legend Gary Pallister attended the event.
As a socially responsible company, we at GLOBUL strongly believe it to be part of our mission as a corporate citizen to contribute and to give back to society by investing in the future of any country – its children. This training camp we organize together with Manchester United for the second time gives talented young players once-in-a-lifetime chance to train and get advice from acknowledged masters of game. I believe this experience will help them both improve their football skills and build on their personal qualities, Mr. Choumis said at the press conference.
This is my first time in Bulgaria and the welcome I have received has been fantastic. I am very happy to be part of a programme that is focused on supporting school children and the Homeless World Cup team. I think the GLOBUL Manchester United Soccer School week is a great way to encourage children to take up the game. I used to kick a ball about with my friends and then went on to play for the greatest team in the world! GLOBUL is giving school children and underprivileged groups the opportunity to learn skills that will last them a lifetime and you never know, we could end up unearthing the game’s next big star!,Mr. Pallister commented.
The talented footballers who will take part in the training camp include the top three teams in the 2012/2013 National Football Tournaments for boys in the 5-7and 8-10 grade age groups, who come from five different cities - Shumen, Kardzhali, Plovdiv, Varna and Sofia. The football tournament is organized annually by the Ministry of Education and Science.
In addition to students, 20 underprivileged young people from Bulgaria’s national homeless football men and women teams will participate in the camp as part of GLOBUL’s support for the Homeless World Cup Bulgaria initiative, organized by Sports Management Bulgaria.
