"Europe needs you and your government; the Balkans need you and Bulgaria needs you," Germany's President Frank-Walter Steinmeier told Bulgaria's PM Boyko Borisov at the beginning of their meeting in Berlin, yesterday.
He also congratulated Borisov on his third tenure as Prime Minister of Bulgaria and wished him luck in his doings over the next four years.
The two agreed on the importance of the Bulgarian-German ties and their further strengthening and development.
"Bulgaria highly appreciates its excellent friendly relations with Germany, as well as the political dialogue between the two countries. We will keep on relying on the German experience and support in some strategic for Bulgaria fields such as, for example, the oncoming EU Presidency, border security and investment in dual education," Borisov said.
He once again thanked Germany for its support for Bulgaria in the EU and NATO and expressed hope that Bulgaria would soon get access to the Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM-2).
