German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Bulgaria, where she will be awarded the country's mos prestigious award, the Stara Planina.
Merkel will arrive in Sofia today. She will meet the Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov and discuss with him the aftermath of the global economic crisis, Bulgaria's entry to the Schengen zone and the controversial France's Roma-expulsion policy.
During her visit, the German Chancellor will also meet with the President Georgi Parvanov, who will award her the highest state order.
Merkel will also deliver a lecture at a German-Bulgarian business forum.
