German Investments in Greece Now Total 3.5 billion Euros

German investments in Greece have risen to 3.5 billion euros, according to data collected by the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This sum has been invested in the country by 120 German enterprises, with a workforce of 27,000 and an annual turnover of 7.7 billion euros, or 3.0 pct of the Greek GDP, the Chamber said in a report.
Based on its findings, German investors were mostly interested in the sectors of agrifood products, renewable energy sources, waste management, tourism, logistics, technology, supermarkets and insurance.
"Productive investments are the only way out for the country and the Chamber seeks to attract German investors to Greece through focused actions," Michalis Maillis, president of the Chamber, said in an announcement, adding that the German investment presence is growing each year, boosting Greece's efforts to remain on a steady path of economic growth.
