GERB runner for president, Rossen Plevneliev, continues to keep the lead ahead of BSP nominee Ivailo Kalfin. Currently, Plevneliev garners 32% set against 18% for Kalfin, shows the latest poll of the National Public Opinion Center.
The third position is held by Meglena Kuneva with 9%. At the beginning of July, when Meglena Kuneva was one of the few nominations officially voiced, nearly 1/3 of the Bulgarians declared they would support her. The GERB and BSP voters, who 2 months ago declared support for independent Kuneva now show preference to the party nominations. It is quite interesting that some 12% of the BSP electorate state they will back Kuneva at the presidential elections. The BSP have strengthened their ranks after the nomination of Stefan Danailov for vice president. (Source: Standart News)
