Georgiadis meets Serb ambassador, accepts invitation to visit Belgrade

Development and Investments Minister Adonis Georgiadis on Tuesday had a meeting with the Serbian Ambassador to Greece, Dusan Spasojevic, and discussed issues concerning bilateral relations between Greece and Serbia. After the meeting, Georgiadis said he had asked the ambassador to convey an invitation to his Serb counterpart to attend the 84th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) and announced that he had accepted an invitation to visit Belgrade, adding that the visit will take place very soon. Spasojevic said that Serbia considered Greece a strategic partner in both the Balkans and throughout Europe and desired even closer bilateral relations between the two countries. "In the meeting with the minister, we also discussed the 84th TIF and will do everything possible so that Serbia is represented at the highest possible level. We are also anxious to organise the trip to Belgrade as soon as possible," he said. In a radio interview with Thema 104.6, meanwhile, Georgiadis said that the issue on Tuesday of the Joint Ministerial Decisions (JMDs) for the Hellinikon project meant it was now possible to hold a tender for the casino and stay on schedule with respect to a tender that was postponed several times under the previous SYRIZA government. One more JMD would be issued on Friday, leaving just one for the following week, he added.
