Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov said that relations between Bulgaria and Germany have grown closer in recent years, Focus news agency reported.According to the report, the Bulgaria President said that the country wanted to improve ties with Germany, not only at federal level, but also with individual German states."We have made a positive assessment of current economic and cultural relations and political dialogue between Bulgaria and the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate," Parvanov told Focus.Parvanov had a meeting with Kurt Beck, minister-president of the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Beck is on an official visit to Bulgaria from June 20-22. As part of his programme he is scheduled to hold talks with President Georgi Parvanov, Bulgarian Justice Minister Margarita Popova, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov as well as representatives of the Bulgarian Industrial AssociationBeck is a German politician from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), serving as the minister president of the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz) since 1994 and as President of the Bundesrat in 2000/01.
