Four New Companies Interested in Second Phase of Market Test for Bulgaria-Greece Interconnector

Four new companies have expressed interest in participating in the second bidding phase of the market test for the Bulgaria-Greece interconnector project in order to reserve capacity on it, said Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petkova at a news briefing in Sofia together with Greek counterpart Panos Skourletis after the promotional event.
The second bidding phase was formally launched on August 5 after the energy regulators of Bulgaria and Greece approved the guidelines for management and the allocation of capacity on gas interconnector.
Minister Petkova said that the regulators of the two countries are looking for possibilities to draft rules which will allow these companies to participate in the second phase of the market test in line with all requirements for transparency and equality.
"If these four companies do participate, it will be a testament to the interest in the project and its economic viability," said Petkova.
