Foreign Tourist Arrivals in Bulgaria Rise 4.3% Y/Y in June

 Foreign tourist arrivals in Bulgaria totalled 1.16 million in June, up 4.3% on the year, official statistics showed.
Nationals of EU member states accounted for 55.1% of foreign tourist arrivals in Bulgaria last month, the National Statistics Institute said in a press release. Their number increased by 0.9% on the year to 641,696.
In June, the most significant annual increase was registered in the number of tourists arriving from the Czech Republic and Germany, up by 29.7% and 24.2%, respectively.
Tourist arrivals from European non-EU member states went up by 8.1% on the year to 400,722 in June, as visitors from Ukraine and Russia increased by 16.4% and 13.6%, respectively.
As many as 62% of all foreign tourists who arrived in Bulgaria last month were holidaymakers, 28.6% were visiting friends or relatives, or just transiting the country and 9.4% came for business reasons.
