Foodstuffs Raise Their Share In Bulgaria's Exports

In the period 2001-2012 food and drinks exports from Bulgaria grew 7.6 times, shows an analysis of the KNSB trade union.
The food exports grow faster than the overall export of the country for the period, which grew six times. The export of tobacco and cigarettes increased eight times.
In 2012 Bulgaria's food industry produced goods for 9.5 billion levs, shows the analysis, quoted by the Sega daily. It constitutes 15.2% of the country's industry and is the second largest. It employs 4.6% of the workforce.
Data of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency shows that the main foreign markets for pastry and baked goods are Romania, Poland, UK and Greece. The oils sell well in Greece and Romania.
