FinMin Hails Approval of Bailout Loan Tranche

Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras expressed his satisfaction with the approval  by the Euro Working Group for the release of a 1-billion-euro tranche of bailout loans to Greece, the Athens News Agency-Macedonian Press Agency reported.
“A tough phase for Greece has ended,” Stournaras said, as quoted by the news agency. He added that this time the prior actions had been “unprecedented,” with the most difficult being the negotiation to decide the future of Hellenic Defense Systems.
Stournaras also said the troika of lenders is expected to return to Athens by mid-January for a new round of talks, with the aim of reaching a deal before the Eurogroup meeting of January 27, so as to open the way for a disbursement of the next tranche of aid to Greece, amounting to 4.9 billion euro.
