FinMin Calls for ‘Fiscally Neutral’ Proposals on Property Tax Amendments

Finance minister Yannis Stournaras said he is willing to consider “fiscally neutral” proposals for amendments to the single property tax, the Athens News Agency – the Macedonian Press  Agency reported.
Meeting with MPs of the New Democracy party who had been asking for amendments to a draft bill they regard as overtaxing farm parcels and urban real estate,
the finance minister asked them to table their proposals by Sunday evening.
The bill aims to collect some 2.9 billion euro from property taxes in 2014, replacing the current levy, collected via electricity bills, and the Real Estate Tax, the news agency recalled.
