Thursday, 06 November 2014
An agreement with the country's EU partners on "the day after" for the Greek economy will be reached by the end of the year, Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis said on Wednesday, after a meeting with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Government Vice-President Evangelos Venizelos at Maximos Mansion, the government headquarters in Athens.
Hardouvelis underlined that the programme will be completed on December 31 and that everybody should be a winner on the day after.
Referring to the statements made by Jeroen Dijsselbloem as presented in the press, he said that in a telephone communication they had at noon, the Eurogroup president himself had clarified that his statements were altered and that in a document to his country's parliament he had referred to what will happen on the day after and not to the continuation of the existing programme.
